The game plan

Companies build brands to stand out in the marketplace. You need one to stand out in the interview. Meet with Joel in person or by video. One session of about an hour can be enough, and you can come back before every new interview.

  1. Build your brand

Learn how to build your own brand, and how to "sell" it.

  2. Discover your assets

Find the strengths that make you stand out from the competition.

  3. Know your features

Think of yourself as a product, with features and benefits to offer.

  4. Tell your story

Leave the interviewer with a story they remember when it's time to choose.

Joel's rule

Information is boring. Stories are interesting.

Put yourself in the interviewer's shoes. They will remember only a few things about you, so make them the right ones.

Don't rattle off a list. Keep coming back to a few key assets, and a question-and-answer session becomes a real conversation.

The goal: when they choose, they think, "Oh yes, she was the one who…"
